Salome Were

Also known as Salma Suzanna

From Student to Teacher, Mentor, and Music Minister

SW

"Education changed my life, and now I want to help change the lives of others."

When Salome Were first came to Glorious Group of Schools, she was a young student with dreams of building a better future. Through the support of Project Restore Hope and the dedication of Bishop Bonface Mang'eti, she was able to complete her education from primary school through college.

Today, Salome is living proof that investing in one child's education can transform an entire community. She is now a qualified teacher at an international school in Diani, Kwale County, Kenya, where she has been teaching lower primary students for the past three years. She teaches Mathematics, Language Activities, Kiswahili, Environmental Activities, and Creative Arts. Every day she helps young children discover their own abilities and develop a love of learning. Beyond the classroom, Salome has another passion—sharing the love of Christ through music. She serves in a praise and worship ministry, encouraging churches and mentoring young people through her music and testimony. Her desire is to use both education and faith to inspire hope in the next generation.

Salome dreams of continuing to grow as an educator, mentor, and servant leader. She hopes to expand her music ministry, record and produce Christian music, and one day travel internationally to share her testimony and encourage others. She is also passionate about helping vulnerable children receive the same educational opportunities that transformed her own life.

Reflecting on her journey, Salome writes: "If my journey can inspire others to support the education of another child, I will be

truly grateful." Her story is a beautiful reminder that when a child is given hope, an education, and the opportunity to succeed, the impact extends far beyond one life. It reaches families, communities, churches, and future generations.

Today, Salome is not only a graduate of Project Restore Hope, she is helping restore hope in the lives of others.
