My name is Walter Rawayo, a student pursuing Law at the Kenya School of Law. I come from Busia County and I am the first-born son in a family of six.

I come from a humble background where meeting our basic needs and supporting my education has always been a great challenge. My education journey has not been easy. During high school, my family and well-wishers struggled financially to meet my school fees and other educational expenses. Unfortunately, my KCSE results slip is still being withheld due to outstanding fee arrears, which remains a challenge for me.

Despite these difficulties, I continued working hard and was fortunate to progress to the Kenya School of Law, where I am currently pursuing my legal education. However, the financial burden has continued to be a major challenge. My annual school fees are approximately KSh 141,000, excluding other essential expenses such as accommodation, food, transport, learning materials, and personal needs.

At times, it has been extremely difficult to raise the money required to remain in school. Nevertheless, I remain determined to complete my studies and achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer.

Receiving support from GLOHA Family Welfare and Project Restore Hope has therefore been a great blessing to me. When I received the cheque, I was deeply touched because it gave me renewed hope and relieved a significant part of the financial burden I have been carrying.
