Scholarship Program

Zilpah Shirwatso

My name is Zilpah Shirwatso. I am 20 years old and I come from Uasin Gishu County. I am the fourth born in a family of four children, with two boys and two girls.

I am about to join Machakos University to study Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). The fees for my course are KSh 183,600 per year. I have both my parents, but my mother is the one who has been struggling to support us.

I was supposed to join Machakos University last year, but I could not report because of financial difficulties. I also had a fee balance at my high school, which made it difficult for me to move forward with my university plans.

When GLOHA gave me the scholarship and I received the cheque, I thanked God because I knew I could finally start pursuing the career I have been hoping for. The scholarship has not covered every requirement, but it has made a big difference for me and has brought me closer to joining university.

I am very grateful to GLOHA Family Welfare and Project Restore Hope for believing in me and giving me this chance. Your support has encouraged me not to give up on my education. I hope that one day, after I have achieved my goals, I will also be in a position to help someone else the way you have helped me.

Thank you, GLOHA Family Welfare and Project Restore Hope, for your support. May God bless you and everyone who continues to help students like me.
